Abstract

A video text communication system operating via the telephone network will be made available to a vast number of users for the very first time. The “Bildschirmtext” terminal, as it exists today, provides private customers with electronic equipment, representing the latest state of the art, at a reasonable price. The influence which further technological developments will have on the “Bildschirmtext” system will be analyzed. Reading habits and environments play an important role in the reception and understanding of text.
