Controlled sources and impedance converters
In linear network synthesis, not only passive components are used, but also idealized active elements such as controlled current and voltage sources. In addition, idealized converter circuitry such as the negative impedance converter (NIC), the gyrator and the circulator is often employed. In the following sections we describe the most important ways of implementing these circuits.
