Zusammenfassung

Hevesy und Levi haben 1936 die ersten Aktivierungsanalysen zur Bestimmung seltener Erden durchgeführt; aber erst die Entwicklung der Kernphysik und der Technik haben die Entwicklung der Aktivierungsanalyse soweit ermöglicht, daß sie praktische Bedeutung erlangte. Sie hat ihrerseits der Spurenelementforschung in Medizin und Biologie entscheidende Impulse gegeben und ist jetzt für die Spurenelementforschung unentbehrlich. Sie kann schon heute für spezielle Diagnosen benutzt werden. Sie ist sehr empfindlich, hoch spezifisch und ermöglicht vor allem auch ein zerstörungsfreies Arbeiten.
