Abstract

It is useful to consider the treatment of trophoblastic tumours against the background of the major studies of their pathology by Park and Lees [19], Park [20], and Ober et al. [18]. The therapeutic state before methotrexate (MTX) appeared was indicated in the paper by Brewer et al. [8] which recorded a 20% 5-year survival rate with surgery, radiotherapy and, in some cases, nitrogen mustard.
