Abstract
One of the most important problems in the apallic syndrome is represented by the study of the central nervous system activity, which is particularly difficult to examine during a condition of unconsciousness. The more elements of the complex clinical picture available, the more accurate the diagnostic and prognostic evaluation of the patient. These considerations explain the search for ever new and more sophisticated methods of investigating the functions of the central nervous system.
