Neuropathology of the Traumatic Apallic Syndrome

Twenty cases of the apallic syndrome have been examined. Nontraumatic cases were not included in this study. The age of the patients ranged 9–53 years, the average age being 31.8 years. Fifteen patients were male and five, female. The duration of the clinical syndrome varied from 3 weeks to 7 years with an average duration of 11 months.
