Abstract

In this chapter we consider the conservation equations (23.3)1, and the gravitation equations (23.1) in general relativity, in the general elastic case, with inclusion of thermodynamics and electromagnetism. In § 72 we lay down foundations of piezo-elasticity (for finite deformations). 1) § 72 is based on the consequence (43.8) of conservation or gravitation equations, which is the equation of the balance of energy, and on the second principle in the general form (46.2).
