Abstract
Glutamate dehydrogenase catalyzes the reversible oxidative deamination of L-glutamate to α-ketoglutarate and ammonia with pyridine nucleotides as coenzyme
The above reaction plays a key role in linking nitrogen metabolism to the tricarboxylic acid cycle (Fig. 1).
