Immuntherapie bei malignen Tumoren

Zusammenfassung

Immuntherapie maligner Tumoren beabsichtigt, die immunologischen Wechselbeziehungen zwischen Tumor und Wirtsorganismus derart zu manipulieren, daß dadurch der Organismus (wieder) in Stand gesetzt wird, die Tumorzellen immunreaktiv zu eliminieren. Dies ist heute mehr als bloßer Wunsch: sowohl schlüssige Tierversuche als auch hoffnungsvolle Therapieansätze beim Menschen zeigen, daß dies im Prinzip möglich ist. Gleichwohl ist das wissenschaftliche Fundament für ein regelrechtes therapeutisches Handeln noch nicht tragfähig. Immuntherapie maligner Tumoren befindet sich noch im Experimentierstadium.
