Abstract

In this presentation we will briefly review our results on the study of the amino acid sequence and the three-dimensional structure of the Fab fragment from a human myeloma protein, IgG1 New (λ, Gm 1+, 3-, 4-, 5-). This structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction techniques to a nominal resolution of 2 Å and partially refined using “model building” and “real space” procedures (Diamond, 1966, 1971). The complete amino acid sequence of the L and Fd chains has been elucidated and correlated with the Fourier map of the electron density to provide a three-dimensional high resolution model.
