Abstract
In the preceding chapter motive and refrigerant efficiencies were defined only for cycles. However, the same definitions can be used for bodies undergoing processes that need not be cyclic. Henceforth we shall refer to the motive efficiency of a body undergoing a process simply as the efficiency of the process.
