Abstract
In this chapter I will summarize information on how the spatial and/or social organization may vary within and between populations of the same species, under the influence of the local environment. This will demonstrate the flexibility of certain behavioral complexes that gives the species concerned a measure of adaptability, allowing it to thrive under sometimes quite different environmental conditions.
