An Immunological Classification of Leukemias and Hematosarcomas Based on Cell Membrane Markers with Special Reference to Null Cell Disorders

  • Chapter
Lymphocytes, Macrophages, and Cancer

Abstract

The identification, several years ago, of membrane markers on the mononuclear cell population of both animals (29) and humans (2, 10, 16, 19, 35, 38, 39, 40) has permitted differentiation of this population into T- (thymodependent) and B- (thymoindependent) lymphocytes and a third cell category including monocytes (11, 18).
