Hunting for Prey

Abstract

Prey species differ in their defense tactics, if only subtly. Accordingly, many predators preying upon more than one prey employ a number of hunting methods while others are committed to a single hunting pattern for life. This, together with the fact that the diets of most predators differ from each other, points to the existence of almost as many hunting repertoires as predator species. Yet some generalities have come to light.
