Summary
Some results of experimental investigations of the different types of 2-dimensional cascades, which are used as transonic turbine cascades for steam or gas turbines, are shown. Those tests are done at DFVLR-AVA in Göttingen in order to determine the characteristic flow values, including losses, for the whole operation range of cascades. The results of measurements and schlieren pictures are used for the discussion of the flow behaviour.
The experimental results are partly based on systematic investigations of the DFVLR-AVA under a contract of MAN-Nürnberg. The publication of the result trends was kindly permitted by MAN.
