Abstract

Because of their intramediastinal location, coronary vessels fail to show in conventional roentgenography. Direct radiographic visibility of these vessels is possible only when considerable amounts of calcium have been deposited on their walls. Indirect visibility is obtained by angiography, i.e. by introducing contrast media into the coronary lumen.
