Abstract

The successful production of tumors of the nervous system by Druckrey et al. (1964) and Ivankovic et al. (1966) yielded a wealth of new data concerning the methods and results of such experiments. Although the molecular and cellular mechanism in the development of these neoplasms remain unknown, many new morphological and statistical facts could be collected. However, these morphological and statistical data need cautious analysis and interpretation. Only under this condition can useful conclusions for general pathology be drawn.
