Tumours of the lymphoreticular system are common. Burkitt’s lymphoma is the most frequent single tumour type. The well known geographical and clinical manifestations of this disease are confirmed. Other tumours show a much less marked geographical variation and the incidence is similar in different parts of the country. Hodgkin’s disease often presents in children and is only seldom of the nodular sclerosing or lymphocyte predominant type. Histiocytic medullary reticulosis appears to be much more frequent in Uganda, particularly in Northern district. In other respects the distribution of lymphomas appears to have an essentially similar pattern to those found in other countries.
