Abstract

As an introduction to this symposium I would like to make a few remarks about metabolic regulations. In general, the regulatory control of metabolism in higher organisms falls into two large categories:

  1. (1)

    Regulation of enzyme turnover

  2. (2)

    Regulation of enzyme activity.
