Lokalisation von Wachstumshormon und Prolactin in differenten acidophilen Zellen des Hypophysenvorderlappens
Localization of Growth Hormone and Prolactin in Different Acidophilic Cells of the Adenohypophysis
Using fluorescein labelled antibodies to bovine growth hormone and prolactin these hormones were localized in different acidophilic cells of the bovine, ovine, and porcine adenohypophysis. In the rat growth hormone only displayed cross-reactivity. Restaining of sections by the technique of Brookes, which vas presumed to differentiate growth hormone and prolactin cells, revealed a wrong classification by this staining method, at least for the species tested. The Herlant procedure proved to be inadequate as well.
