Zusammenfassung
Alcianblau 8GX wird den verwandten Farbstoffen Alciangelb oder Alcian-grün (einer Mischung aus Alcianblau und Alciangelb) wegen des besseren Farbkontrastes vorgezogen. Alcianblau färbt in saurer Lösung Carboxyl-und Sulfatreste, nicht aber Nucleinsäuren. Damit bietet es sich für Mucinfär-bungen [1] an. Die Dissoziation der Carboxylgruppen kann durch Senken des pH oder durch Zusatz hoher Salzkonzentrationen unterdrückt werden. [2], so daß nur noch Sulfatgruppen den Farbstoff binden.
