Zusammenfassung
Zur Verbesserung der Lebensqualität vieler schwerkranker Patienten ist eine gute Schmerzbekämpfung notwendig. Bei Tumorschmerzen kann durch eine adäquate systemische Schmerztherapie fast immer entscheidend geholfen werden. Invasive Verfahren der Anästhesie sind nur selten erforderlich. Die Hemmung der Schmerzwahrnehmung erfolgt je nach Analgetikum durch eine Inhibition der Schmerzentstehung und/oder eine Veränderung der Schmerzweiterleitung und der zentralnervösen Verarbeitung.
