Abstract

With echo-planar imaging (EPI) images may be acquired in less than 1 s [98], providing many advantages relevant to clinical diagnosis. In addition to the practical virtues of faster image acquisition and reduced sensitivity to motion artifact, the technique allows investigation of physiological processes such as diffusion and perfusion.
