Zusammenfassung

Die Anzahl der bekannten Hepatitis-Viren hat seit der Entdeckung des Hepatitis B-Virus 1963 stark zugenommen (Tabelle 1). Ein Meilenstein war die Entdeckung des Hepatitis-C-Virus durch Choo 1989. Dieses Virus stellt bei über 90% der posttransfusionellen Non-A-Non-B-Hepatitiden das infektiöse Agens dar.
