Abstract
When platelets are removed from the circulation and exposed to unphysiological conditions in collection and storage systems, various changes occur that are collectively referred to as the “platelet storage lesion“. These changes may be reflected in alterations of membrane glycoproteins (gp) and metabolic factors.
