Chronic Pancreatitis: Diagnosis

  • Chapter
Pancreatitis

Abstract

The case history of a patient with chronic pancreatitis has typical characteristics that should alert the physician to pursue further investigations to verify or exclude the suspected diagnosis. Nevertheless, the diagnostic delay is appalling, reaching as long as 30 months in the case of alcoholics and 60 months for patients with other etiologies [13, 144].
