Tensor-LEED, Diffuse LEED, and LEED Holography

  • Chapter
Surface Science

Abstract

Low energy electron diffraction (LEED) has developed powerful new features and extensions in recent years. Intensity analyses were dramatically speeded up by the development of Tensor LEED and structural search procedures allowing access to structures of increased complexity. The restriction to long range order has largely been lifted by the development of diffuse LEED and patterns from disordered adsorbates could be interpreted in a holographic way resulting in atomically resolved images of surfaces.
