Corrections for changes in ground albedo

Abstract

As mentioned before, the radiation tables for the 101 sites have been computed assuming a ground albedo (reflectance for solar radiation) of 0.20. If it is desired to estimate the effects of a change in ground albedo in any particular month, say to allow for effects of snow, the relevant monthly horizontal-surface global radiation data, G mean and Gmax, have first to be extracted from the tables or published maps.The change in the ground reflected contribution can then be estimated as:-
