Abstract
Audiovestibular disorders involving tinnitus, hearing impairment and/or vertigo can be caused in part by intralabyrinthine pressure changes. This is seemingly not valid for Meniere’s disease (Böhmer 1996, this volume). Changes of the intralabyrinthine pressure can be associated with malformations and occur in childhood as well as in adolescence (Plester 1971; Lamprecht et al. 1985). It is the aim of the present paper to report on patients with intracochlear pressure hanges which are reflected by a different pattern in TMD recordings. The TMD technique can, therefore, provide important information on these intracochlear changes which is of significance for the treatment of the disorders.
