Abstract

Is ophthalmoscopy nowadays still important to estimate an increase of intracranial pressure? Even in new textbooks of neurology or neurosurgery papilledema is regarded as an important diagnostic sign for elevated ICP, and for example funduscopy is recommended to do before each lumbar puncture.
