Kinematic GPS Trends — Equipment, Methodologies and Applications
Developments in the area of kinematic GPS are accelerating as a broader community requires higher levels of accuracies. This paper first reviews developments in receiver technologies and processing algorithms. These include low C/A code noise receiver developments, receiver multipath reduction techniques (e.g., MET and MEDLL), codeless tracking methods (e.g., P-W), and on-the-fly (OTF) ambiguity resolution techniques. The use of kinematic of GPS is illustrated by land and shipborne applications including precision farming, structural monitoring and shipborne water level profiling. The paper concludes with a discussion on the future of kinematic positioning.
