Summary

The time—space—relationship of the fauna of the zoobenthos is studied with regard to the possibility of its regeneration after disturbance. Recolonization of defaunated areas can easily be investigated in terms of single species as well as of the whole community. In contrast to this the forecast of the end of this development is very difficult: It is a problem of the comparison of complicated patterns.
