Zusammenfassung
„Nicht dem Leben Jahre, sondern den Jahren Leben geben“, ist das Ziel der Ame-rikanischen Gesellschaft für Geriatrie bei der Behandlung alter Patienten. Wird dieses Ziel durch die Operation hochbetagter Patientinnen erreicht, oder ist durch moderne chirurgische und anästhesiologische Technik noch mehr erreichbar? Im folgenden Beitrag will ich zunächst auf einige grundsätzliche Aspekte der gynä-kologischen Alterschirurgie eingehen, anschließend aktuelle Daten aus der Literatur und postoperative Ergebnisse unserer Klinik darstellen.
