Abstract
A new national curriculum for technology is just being implemented in the Swedish compulsory school system (grade 1 to 9, age 7–16). This paper presents some of the basic structures and concepts introduced in the new syllabus and a model to give the teachers some guidance when interpreting the text and planning their work. The paper has a limited purpose: to serve as a starting point for a discussion on content and methods in relation to the aims and how the subject could be structured.
