1-aus-n Dekoder sind Bausteine, die aus einer binären Eingangsinformation mit n Stellen eine Ausgangsinformation aus 2n möglichen Stellen auswählen. So wird bei einem 1-aus-4 Dekoder (Bild 6.1) jeweils nur ein Ausgang von vier möglichen aktiv, der dem binären Eingangscode entspricht.
