Abstract

This paper will concern itself with the two extremes of elbow problems. First, I will review the results for stiff and ankylosed elbows and second, with flail or unstable elbows. Each of these represent unusual and challenging anatomic problems [4]. The ankylosed elbow partly represents an excess of anatomic resources, whereas the flail or unstable elbow represents a paucity or damaged anatomical resources. In both situations, there are serious functional and disabling problems which must be addressed by the surgeon [3].
