Zusammenfassung
Gallengangsteine können zwar unterschiedlich lange asymptomatisch bleiben oder sich nur als vage Dyspepsie bemerkbar machen, die betroffenen Patienten sind jedoch der Gefahr ernsthafter Komplikationen ausgesetzt, die eine signifikante Morbidität und auch eine nicht zu unterschätzende Mortalität zur Folge haben können. Die meisten Gallengangsteine sind in der Gallenblase entstanden (Cholesterin- oder schwarze Pigmentsteine) und über den Ductus cysticus in den Ductus choledochus gelangt, manche bilden sich aber auch primär im Gallengang. Primäre Gallengangsteine, auch braune Pigmentsteine genannt, haben eine weiche Konsistenz und sind auf eine Cholangitis bei Gallengangverschluß zurückzuführen [1].
