Abstract

High-performance-liquid-chromatography (HPLC) was developed for the detection of small organic compounds and proteins. Many different column materials have been developed for these analyses in relation to particle size, linker size or charge. These materials represent the stationary phase within a column responsible for retardation of substances contained in the samples according to their size and charge measurable by the specific retention times. The mobile phase is represented by the elution buffer which is pumped under high pressure through the stainless-steel-column.
