Fortschritte in Diagnostik und Therapie des Prostatakarzinoms

Zusammenfassung

Die Arbeiten von McNeal et al. (1986,1990) und Stamey et al. (1988) belegen, daß sich das Prostatakarzinom entsprechend seinem Tumorvolumen verhält. Vereinfacht kann man sagen, daß kleine Tumoren so gut wie immer gut differenziert sind und kein aggressives Wachstum in die Kapsel oder Samenblasen zeigen und auch nicht metastasieren, während mit größerem Tumorvolumen (z. B. > 4 cm3) die Wahrscheinlichkeit zu infiltrieren und zu metastasieren stetig wächst.
