Abstract
MMS is an application layer protocol that offers services for the remote control and monitoring of industrial devices. It can typically be used to communicate with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Numerical Controllers (NCs) of machines but also Personal Computers and mini computers that act as production controllers. MMS offers a wide range of services to read or write variables, to download or upload programs and data, to remotely control execution of programs, to manage events, etc.
