Abstract

World-wide competition among enterprises in the area of manufacturing has lead to the concept of CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing). To survive and grow in this competition, enterprises have to compete on price, quality and delivery time. It is generally believed that introduction of Information Technology can help by reducing product life cycle, reducing delays and monitoring production to improve quality.
