Zusammenfassung
Resorbierbare Osteosyntheseimplantate haben gegenüber konventionellen Implantaten zwei wesentliche Vorteile [2]: Zum einen wird mit zunehmender Resorption des Implantates eine graduelle Lastübertragung auf die Fraktur möglich, was die durch “stress-protection” bedingte Knochenatrophie verhindert. Zum zweiten wird eine weitere Operation zur Materialentfernung überflüssig. Geeignete Materialien sind Polyglykolsäure, Polylaktid und Polydioxanon, die allerdings unterschiedlich stark unspezifische zelluläre Entzündungsreaktionen in Knochen- und Weichgewebe auslösen.
