Zusammenfassung

Für moderne Implantate werden metallische Werkstoffe benötigt, die in erster Linie zwei Eigenschaften aufweisen:

  • eine hohe Korrosionsfestigkeit und

  • hervorragende mechanische Eigenschaften.

Eine hohe Korrosionsfestigkeit ist deshalb notwendig, weil die im menschlichen Körper vorhandenen Flüssigkeiten (Blut, Plasma, Lymphe) für den größten Teil der Metalle in hohem Maße aggressiv sind, besonders wegen des hohen Gehalts an Chiorionen, die in ihnen enthalten sind (ca. 0,9% NaCl).
