Funktionelle Stabilität am Oberarm ist die Voraussetzung für eine zügige Frakturheilung. Die Stabilität wird beeinflußt durch:

Frakturlokalisation: proximal, Mitte, distal.

Frakturtyp: instabile Querbrüche bzw. kurze Schrägbrüche und Trümmerfrakturen oder stabil verhakte Mehrfragmentfrakturen.

Einwirkende Kräfte: Traktion, Kompression, Rotation.
