Frequency Database for the D2S44 Locus Using Dig-Labeled YNH24 Probe in the Basque Country Population

Abstract

Locus D2S44 shows a VNTR polymorphism whose heterozygosity and mendelian inheritance make it a suitable tool for identity and relationship purposes (Nakamura et al., 1987). So, the objective of this work was to obtain the frequency distribution of this locus, as well as some parameters of interest in Legal Medicine such as the “A Priori Probability of Exclusion” and “Index of Discrimination”, to apply this system in the Basque Country casework.
