Abstract

The imaging features in 12 adult patients with histologically documented hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and head and brain metastasis are presented. Usually, the metastatic lesions showed as an isodense tumour mass on CT and high density following i.v. contrast. There were 6 patients (50%) with evidence of tumour haemorrhage. HCC should be considered in the differential diagnosis of metastatic lesions of the head and brain, particularly when evidence of haemorrhage appears in the image study.
