Zusammenfassung

Die Nieren liegen beim Menschen zwischen der 11. Rippe und dem Processus transversus des 3. Lendenwirbelkörpers im Retroperitonealraum, achsenparallel zur lateralen Begrenzung des M. psoas. Sie sind 11–12 cm lang, die rechte Niere steht 1–2 cm tiefer als die linke. Die Nieren sind von einer fibrösen Kapsel umgeben; in das perirenale Fett eingebettet liegen sie in der Gerota-Faszie. Die Ureteren verlaufen parallel zu sowie hinter dem lateralen Psoasrand, wandern dann nach lateral, um schließlich in den Blasenboden einzumünden.
