Zusammenfassung

Speicheldrüsentumoren machen lediglich 1% aller Neoplasien und 3–4% aller Kopf-Hals-Tumoren aus. Generell findet man benigne Formen bevorzugt in der jüngeren (im Mittel 40. Lebensjahr) und maligne Formen in der höheren Altersgruppe (im Mittel 55. Lebensjahr). Bei den reinen Karzinomen fällt der Altersgipfel in das 6. bis 7. Lebensjahrzehnt, jedoch finden sich auch im frühen Kindesalter bereits Neoplasien (3%), die zu 57% in der Parotis lokalisiert sind, im Gegensatz zu 15–25% bei Erwachsenen (Ogata et al. 1994; Seifert et al. 1984). Die Inzidenz der malignen Tumoren ist bei beiden Geschlechtern etwa gleich. Bei den benignen Tumoren weist das Adenolymphom (Warthin-Tumor) eine Bevorzugung der Männer, das pleomorphe Adenom eine Bevorzugung der Frauen auf.
