Abstract
Climatic changes have been of primary importance in the parallel development of marine and terrestrial biotas of northeast Asia (Koryak Hills, Kamchatka). A close correlation between the warmest Cenozoic floras and the appearance and taxonomic diversity of planktonic and warm-water benthic foraminifera has been established. From the time of the climatic maximum at the Paleocene-Eocene boundary temperatures there did not reach such high values. Some major floristic events are also connected with the climatic change.
