Zusammenfassung
Der Transplantationsmediziner wird ständig mit der Möglichkeit einer Transplantatabstoßung konfrontiert. Die Abstoßung ist das hauptsächlichste Hindernis für eine erfolgreiche Transplantation und muß rasch und sicher erkannt werden. Das letzte Jahrzehnt hat eine erstaunliche Menge an Wissen über den Mechanismus der Immunerkennung und -reaktion gegen Transplantationsantigene mit sich gebracht. Molekularbiologische Methoden sind im Begriff, in die tägliche klinische Praxis einzutreten. Die klinischen Symptome und die klassischen diagnostischen Methoden der Abstoßungsreaktion behalten jedoch ihren Stellenwert in der heutigen Transplantationsmedizin.
